We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountantto join our dynamic team. About the Role

As our Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the full suite of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and providing financial insights to support strategic business decisions. You will work closely with the Managing Director, Divisional Managers, and Board to deliver accurate and timely financial information while contributing to the broader business operations and IT support structure.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate accounting in compliance with all statutory requirements.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Collaborate with Divisional Managers to prepare detailed annual budgets with clear assumptions.
Enhance departmental budgeting and financial reporting processes.
Manage end-of-financial-year accounting and liaise with external accountants.
Organise insurance renewals as required.
Ensure all financial, procurement, and corporate records are accurate and complete.
Prepare monthly financial reports for accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, and payroll.
Work weekly with company directors to address financial information needs.
Calculate and lodge employee superannuation with the ATO clearing house.
Monitor company profitability and implement KPIs to ensure economic sustainability.
Provide direct financial and management reporting to the Managing Director (including P&L analysis, cashflow forecasts, etc.).
Oversee timely invoicing post-operations to meet client and cash flow KPIs.
Reconcile accounts across multiple systems to confirm financial accuracy.
Manage and maintain the integration of SimPRO and Xero for invoicing and payments.
Maintain company cash flow, remuneration, capital, and investment controls.
Process progress claim invoices in conjunction with project managers.
Ensure timely debt collection and supplier payments.
Manage purchase orders and procurement processes via SimPRO or Xero.
Oversee accounts payable, including data entry and online payments.
Report monthly financial results to the Board and attend meetings to provide insights.
Propose business improvements supported by financial analysis.
Escalate financial risks or discrepancies as required.
Collate timesheets and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Maintain payroll records in line with legislative requirements.
Liaise with the Managing Director on risk management strategies.
Generate performance analysis reports via SimPRO.
Champion the role as both a financial and business leader.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CA qualification (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Xero and SimPRO or similar financial systems.
Exceptional analytical and reporting skills.
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to process improvement.
Experience with payroll, superannuation, and ATO reporting.
