AI-Enhanced Database Systems Opportunity

This is a full-time position for up to 3 years, based at the St Lucia Campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting original research in AI-enhanced data systems.
  • Developing intelligent storage, indexing, and query optimisation techniques.
  • Translating research into deployable prototypes and open-source tools.
  • Publishing in leading conferences.
  • Teaching (20%) and supervising research students.
  • Engaging with industry and academic collaborators.

Requirements

A PhD (completed or near-completion) in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, with demonstrated research strength in data systems, AI for databases, or large-scale data infrastructure.

  • Expertise in core database system techniques.
  • Proven ability to conduct system-oriented research.
  • Strong programming and system design skills.
  • Demonstrated research impact, with publications in top-tier international peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Collaborative and independent work capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
