This is a challenging and rewarding advanced trainee role in the emergency department. It is a minimum 6-month term, providing an opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and treat presentations to the emergency department with minimal supervision, ensuring patients receive high-quality care.
- Independently prioritise decisions/tasks/referrals for multiple patients, managing complex situations effectively.
- Clear communication with patients and colleagues is essential, fostering strong working relationships.
- As a positive role model to junior staff, you will lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Direct your own learning through reflective practice and mentorship, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
- Develop self-directed learning plans and participate in departmental teaching, sharing knowledge and expertise with others.
- Teach clinical skills to junior staff, passing on your expertise and contributing to their growth and development.
- General registration with APHRA is required, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A valid ACLS/APLS certificate is necessary, showcasing your ability to handle emergency situations confidently.
- TS3/4 trainee with ACEM certification is preferred, indicating your dedication to advancing your skills and knowledge.
