About the Role

The University of Melbourne is seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our Experimental Condensed Matter Physics (ECMP) group as a Research Fellow in Accelerator Science. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in accelerator-based physics and develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct internationally competitive accelerator-based research leading to journal publications
  • Pursue world-leading accelerator-based Physics using the unique suite of capabilities available in the Melbourne Pelletron laboratory
  • Present research outcomes at national and international conferences and workshops
  • Assist in the supervision and training of research students
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant area of experimental physics
  • Research experience/demonstrated experience in particle accelerator based scientific research
  • Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with a team towards a common goal
  • Demonstrated aptitude for research, with a sound publication record in relevant areas, commensurate with experience and opportunities
  • Strong evidence of ability and desire to build an academic research career trajectory
