About the Role

Curtin University is seeking a highly experienced Strategic Program Lead to join our team in the WA School of Mines: Minerals, Energy & Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a flagship project in gold processing, working closely with AMIRA Global and industry sponsors to enhance operational efficiencies and spearhead innovative practices and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research and consultancy programs, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery, and drive sustainable improvements and advocate for innovative practices both nationally and internationally.
  • Develop robust relationships with key project stakeholders, industry bodies, professional groups, and government organizations, offering high-level consultancy and strategic advice.
  • Manage team performance, align resources with business strategies, and maintain rigorous project management frameworks to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Guide research directions based on industry needs, ensuring impactful dissemination of research and operational outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Extractive Metallurgy or a similar discipline and proven expertise in the management of significant resources; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or educations/training.
  • Proven expertise in mineral processing and/or hydrometallurgy specific to the gold mining industry, with a solid demonstrated foundation in project management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, problem-solving, and relationship-building capabilities. Strong communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
