Job OverviewSOS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Legal Support Officer to join our team at the APS3 level. In this role, you will provide a range of general administrative support services to our legal practice, including case administration, case preparation, and witness coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Case Administration: Create and administer case files, photocopying, filing, data entry, meeting administration, and records management (including archiving).
- Witness Coordination: Draft summons/subpoenas, liaison (e.g., providing updates), arrange travel, and other related tasks.
- Case Preparation: Prepare materials, lodge/filing documentation, conduct basic research activities, video conferencing, and arrange interpreters and translators.
- Case Liaison: Liaise with Federal Prosecutors, external agencies, courts, and counsel.
- Communication: Build rapport and maintain internal and external relationships, respond to enquiries, and provide accurate advice in a timely manner.
- Adaptability: Adapt communication (both verbal and written) to suit the identified audience, identify and escalate issues to senior staff members, and undertake appropriate learning and development activities as required.
- Professional Services Experience: Strong focus on delivery in a professional services environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility: Ability to respond flexibly and positively to work changes and shifting priorities.
