About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Equifax. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing specialized legal advice on data privacy, competition, and consumer law, as well as all aspects of commercial and corporate law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice on data privacy, competition, and consumer law, as well as commercial and corporate law.
  • Ensure that Equifax's arrangements with customers and suppliers are properly documented, taking into account key areas of legal risk.
  • Work closely with the Equifax General Counsel A/NZ, as well as the whole Legal team, Compliance, and other key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Advise the business on the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of complex commercial contracts, including online standard terms, master services agreements, confidentiality agreements, IT agreements, license agreements, consultancy agreements, alliance, agency, and joint venture agreements.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a commercial lawyer, with experience in financial services.
  • Prior in-house experience with a major corporation, and/or reputable law firm experience.
  • Extensive and proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data privacy, competition, and consumer law, preferably with experience in financial services law.
  • Ability to explain legal concepts in a commercial context.
  • Business-focused individuals who appreciate and are able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with multiple competing priorities to juggle.
