Dental Assistant Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated dental assistant to join our team. As a dental assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dental clinicians in the provision of oral health services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist dental clinicians in providing high-quality patient care.
  • Undertake administrative tasks such as filing, maintaining electronic patient databases, scheduling appointments, and managing wait lists.
  • Assist in delivering oral health promotion activities and education to patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent work experience.
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or demonstrated capacity to achieve this qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relate well to adults, children, and other health professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience in infection control, instrument reprocessing, and dental assisting.
  • Ability to plan own work, manage priorities, use initiative, and problem-solve.
  • Effective computer skills for communication and use of dental patient administration and management systems.
  • A Class C driver's licence with the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
