Job Title: Business Development Director

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Business Development Director to lead our commercial strategy and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of variations, claims, delays, and instructions to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial and commercial strategies to enhance our market position and achieve business objectives.
  • Prepare and submit timely claims and variations, as well as provide necessary notifications to stakeholders.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and quarterly re-forecasts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage procurement activities effectively, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Comply with all procurement regulations and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide regular management feedback on operational issues and potential risks.
  • Analyze and review contracts to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Possession of a recognized accounting qualification (CA/CPA/CIMA) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, preferably with roads, asphalt, or pavement projects.
  • Experience working with reputable main contractors is desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management are highly valued.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
