Maintenance Fitter Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and machinery to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and other preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty or damaged equipment and parts to ensure seamless operation of our manufacturing facility.
  • Work closely with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Participate in capital projects and contribute to the development of preventative maintenance strategies to minimize equipment failures and downtime.
  • Foster a culture of safety and adhere to all Work Health & Safety (WHS) directives to ensure a safe working environment for everyone.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of preventative maintenance strategies and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience working in a structured maintenance team with accountability for KPI delivery.
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to producing high-quality results.
  • High-level knowledge and commitment to WHS and risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Formal trade qualifications and relevant certifications.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance systems and intermediate computer skills.
  • Skill in welding (MMAW & MIG essential, TIG optional).
  • Significant experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
