About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Lead to join our team at Aggreko Generator Rentals. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring electrical engineers, overseeing the design and implementation of electrical systems for mining and power generation projects, and ensuring compliance with Australian standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and Mentor: Guide and develop the electrical engineering team, ensuring alignment with project goals and company standards.
  2. Design and Engineering: Oversee the design and implementation of electrical systems for mining and power generation projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards.
  3. Project Leadership: Manage electrical engineering aspects of projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with other disciplines and stakeholders.
  4. Simulation and Analysis: Utilize tools like PowerFactory and CDEGS to model and optimise electrical systems, ensuring robust performance.
  5. Safety Compliance: Implement safety standards and risk management practices to ensure all designs and installations are secure and compliant.
  6. Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, delivering technical presentations and reports.
Requirements
  1. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master's degree or Chartered Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in electrical design for mining and power generation, with a strong understanding of Australian standards.
  3. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in HV substation design, earthing studies, and simulation tools like PowerFactory and CDEGS.
  4. Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage team dynamics and stakeholder expectations.
  5. Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  6. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients and stakeholders.
