Research Scientist Megaproject Dynamics

The University of Sydney invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to the development of advanced decision-making systems for complex megaprojects.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work under the supervision of Dr. Wanchun Liu, an Australian Research Council's Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) Fellow and expert in AI-driven sensing and control for large-scale systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting high-quality research in intelligent sensing and control for complex project environments
- Developing and implementing AI-based algorithms, such as graph neural networks and deep reinforcement learning
- Designing and simulating dynamic models of megaproject systems
- Preparing and submitting journal articles to top-tier publications
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary researchers across engineering, management, and AI
Requirements include a PhD or near-completion in one of the following fields: Project Management, Systems Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning. Demonstrated expertise in AI/ML algorithm development, dynamic modeling, and simulation, as well as proficiency in Python, are also essential.
