Aurizon is seeking a skilled Mechanical Tradesperson to join our team at our Forrestfield maintenance depot in Perth. As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing various mobile and fixed plant, and infrastructure across the depot to ensure they meet safety and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine, corrective maintenance and fault repairs on depot plant, including compressors, pressure vessels, lifting tables, light vehicles, forklifts, and various other equipment.
- Tool Store and Equipment Management: Maintain the tool store and equipment register, coordinating testing with service providers.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Report actual work completed versus scheduled tasks and keep detailed records of asset condition, maintenance programs, and costs.
- Quality Improvement: Advance work procedures and practices to drive continuous quality improvement.
- Support to Other Depots: Provide support to other WA maintenance depots as per EA agreement.
- Specialized Tasks: Mix Nitrite for locomotives, monitor a Reverse Osmosis system, and manage fuel farm.
- Fleet Management: Deal with LV fleet management, including services.
- Contractor Coordination: Assist with coordinating contractors when they attend the depot for work.
- Inventory Management: Manage plant inventory spare parts.
- Safety Focus: Strong dedication to safety.
- Driver's License: Current unrestricted WA driver's license (essential). Forklift & HR license advantageous.
- Mechanical Qualification: Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.
- Equipment Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of equipment functions, defects, and fault-finding.
- Experience: Experience with the repair and maintenance of heavy industrial plant and light vehicles is preferred, but not essential.
- Software Skills: Experience with SAP Computer Maintenance Systems, Sharepoint, and General Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
