About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Tradesperson to join our team at our Forrestfield maintenance depot. As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various mobile and fixed plant, and infrastructure across the depot to ensure they meet safety and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine, corrective maintenance and fault repairs on depot plant including compressors, pressure vessels, lifting tables, light vehicles, forklifts and various other equipment.
  2. Maintain the tool store and equipment register, coordinating testing with service providers.
  3. Report actual work completed versus scheduled tasks.
  4. Adhere to technical and operational specifications for all work performed.
  5. Keep detailed records of asset condition, maintenance programs, and costs.
  6. Advance work procedures and practices to drive continuous quality improvement.
  7. Provide support to other WA maintenance depots as per EA agreement.
  8. Mix Nitrite for locomotives, including monitoring a Reverse Osmosis system and fuel farm.
  9. Deal with LV fleet management, including services.
  10. Assist with coordinating contractors when they attend the depot for work.
  11. Manage plant inventory spare parts.
About You
  1. You have a strong dedication to safety.
  2. You hold a current unrestricted WA driver's license (Essential), with Forklift and HR license advantageous.
  3. You possess a Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  4. You have proven ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.
  5. You have extensive knowledge of equipment functions, defects, and fault-finding.
  6. Experience with the repair and maintenance of heavy industrial plant and light vehicles is preferred, but not essential.
  7. You have experience with SAP Computer Maintenance Systems, Sharepoint and General Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
