We are a leading provider of innovative engineering solutions, and we're seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in Canberra/Sydney. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering successful Defence projects, working closely with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of technical aspects.

Job Summary

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, for this exciting opportunity. If you have a background in Defence projects and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with client requirements and technical specifications.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including Defence personnel and contractors.
  • Facilitate the progression and approval of Requests for Problem Resolution (RPRs) and collaborate with Installation Managers to secure platform approvals prior to deployment.
  • Closely work with Engineering Managers to plan and deliver engineering activities ahead of deadlines.
  • Identify and mitigate engineering risks, opportunities, and issues specific to allocated platforms.
  • Provide strategic engineering advice and establish control processes to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Develop and implement relevant engineering documentation and manage costs, conducting due diligence on contractor quotes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer in Defence projects, managing technical aspects and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • RAN platform knowledge and experience essential.
  • Familiarity with Navy AD514 Engineering processes and ability to work process-oriented.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with experience engaging internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience working within the Defence maritime environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Defence Capability Lifecycle Projects.
  • Military/APS/Contractor experience working with Ship Class SPO's and ISSC's.
Work Arrangements
  • Standard 40-hour working week, occasional overtime by agreement.
  • Mon-Fri business hours, based in Canberra/Sydney preferred.
  • Semi-regular interstate travel and physical board on Navy Ships during maintenance periods may be required.
Security Clearance
  • NV2/NV1 security clearance required.
