Motor Vehicle Insurance Litigation Specialist
">- This role involves managing a portfolio of litigated matters and providing support, guidance, and supervision to a team of paralegals and cross-functional teams.
- You will advise clients on legal issues, arrange interviews, and meetings with clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties, and draft, proofread, and finalize legal documents.
- Other key duties include preparing cases for court by conducting investigation, undertaking research, arranging witness preparation and attendance, and giving notice of court actions.
- Negotiate claims and settlements with various insurers and third parties to achieve favorable outcomes, and make court appearances, including pre-trial reviews and hearings.
- Time management skills and proven ability to handle multiple active matters are essential, as well as problem-solving ability and ability to think laterally.
- Ensure litigation files are up to date and prepare for any upcoming court events, and provide reports and updates as required.
About You:
">- A current practicing certificate is essential, and 1-3 years post-admission experience in the motor vehicle property and hire car recovery practice area is desirable.
- Litigation experience not only in NSW but in other states is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong understanding of applicable legal principles and case law is required, as well as excellent legal research and analytical skills.
- Ability to uphold and maintain professional ethics when managing cases and dealing with clients/customers is essential, as well as ability to take ownership of your work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative and pragmatic approach is necessary, as well as ability to manage your own file load and assist in management of paralegals.
- Effective communication with clients and colleagues is also required.
