We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Architect to lead our ICT Digital strategy, technology choices and Enterprise Architecture. The successful candidate will have extensive digital technology and architectural knowledge and expertise.

  • Leadership and coaching of a team of ICT professionals implementing agile methodologies;
  • An ability to interpret and lead the unique architecture of the Defence environment and drive ICT maturity and uplift;
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders often working to constrained timeframes;
  • Demonstrate strong judgement and capitalise on innovative alternatives to resolve complex problems;
  • Effectively challenge the status quo when required;
  • Demonstrate resilience and personal accountability for the quality of advice and delivery of results; and
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

You will play a key role in promoting and influencing a shared commitment to the strategic direction of Defence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a branch practicing inclusive leadership, collaboration and integrity;
  • Demonstrate outstanding judgement, strategic awareness, and parliamentary and media acumen;
  • Provide timely and accurate advice to senior leaders and Government on complex matters;
  • Sustain a culture of innovation and agility within the organisation;
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
Requirements
  • Extensive digital technology and architectural knowledge and expertise;
  • Leadership and coaching of a team of ICT professionals implementing agile methodologies;
  • An ability to interpret and lead the unique architecture of the Defence environment and drive ICT maturity and uplift;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities;
