Job Overview

The role of a Quality Control Hull Inspector involves ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and specifications are met in ship construction.

  • Support assurance that robust Quality Control processes are established and operating effectively.
  • Contribute to ongoing review of delivery of quality plan, provide cost metrics for poor-quality metrics, and minimize rework within projects.
  • Review and monitor all quality records (work packs, manufacturer's data reports, mandatory planned maintenance items) to ensure customer acceptance.
  • Coordinate Preliminary Material Review and contribute towards the Material Review Board.
  • Provide quality support and guidance to departments while fostering open communication and teamwork to solve problems.
  • Mentor and coach production staff and suppliers on required workmanship as defined by product drawings, specifications, standards, and policies.
  • Report and manage nonconforming issues according to processes to identify, segregate, and report them.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance: Ensure that work performed meets the highest standards of workmanship and specifications.

Quality Plan Delivery: Contribute to ongoing review of quality plan delivery, providing value-added cost metrics for poor-quality metrics and minimizing rework within projects.

Quality Records: Review and monitor all quality records (work packs, manufacturer's data reports, mandatory planned maintenance items) to ensure customer acceptance.

Material Review Board: Coordinate Preliminary Material Review and contribute towards the Material Review Board.

Teamwork: Foster open communication and teamwork to solve problems and provide quality support and guidance to departments.

Mentorship: Mentor and coach production staff and suppliers on required workmanship as defined by product drawings, specifications, standards, and policies.

Issue Reporting: Report and manage nonconforming issues according to processes to identify, segregate, and report them.
