Key Responsibilities- Customer Greeting and Engagement: Provide a warm and friendly welcome to customers, making eye contact and using a range of greeting techniques to deter theft.
- Supporting Store Operations: Assist other areas within the store as needed, including Foods, C&H, and Operations.
- Product Knowledge and Support: Be knowledgeable about the store, supporting key marketing messages, latest products, and common customer inquiries.
- Customer Assistance: Assist customers in navigating the store, recognizing when a customer needs help and providing appropriate support.
- Incident Handling: Handle various retail circumstances calmly and empathetically, including confrontational situations.
- Security and Safety: Act as a visible deterrent against violence, anti-social behavior, targeted theft, and criminal activity to support a safe shopping environment.
- Reporting and Communication: Report all incidents through the M&S Incident reporting process and engage with police and other security personnel to improve service to M&S.
- Confident Presence: Confident and friendly personality with strong communication skills.
- Customer Focus: Ability to focus on greeting customers and deterring suspicious activity.
- Brand Awareness: Natural empathy with M&S brand and values, including service behaviors.
- Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and willing to improvise and suggest or try new approaches.
