Job Description\

The role of a Mechanical Fitter is pivotal in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical fitting work, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of gearboxes.

  • Perform skilled mechanical fitting work, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of gearboxes\
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications to carry out fitting and adjustment tasks accurately\
  • Disassemble, inspect, and diagnose issues with gearboxes, then carry out necessary repairs or replacements\
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment\
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete complex projects\
  • Maintain detailed records of work undertaken and report on any identified issues or recommendations for improvement\

Required Skills and Qualifications\
  • \
  • Formal trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, with a minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in industrial machinery maintenance\
  • Experience in strip, assess, and assembly of fixed plant gear reducers\
  • Able to accurately use measuring equipment\
  • Experience in laser alignment\
  • Hold a Dogman and forklift ticket\
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals\
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity, with the ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools\
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues\
  • Commitment to working safely and following all relevant health and safety procedures\
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team\
  • Willing to undertake occasional short-term site work\
  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia\
