Job Title: English as a New Language Curriculum Committee Member

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of curriculum committee member responsible for developing frameworks and content for English language learners in grades K-5.

This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with the Division of Multilingual Education and/or curriculum administrators to enhance the educational experience of students.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Division of Multilingual Education and/or curriculum administrators to complete various assignments within a specific timeframe.
  • Develop frameworks and relevant content for English language learners during both standalone and integrated periods.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills needed to fulfill responsibilities related to committee work.
Requirements:
  • New York State teacher certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
  • Currently employed with Buffalo Public Schools as a probationary or tenured teacher.
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards, Commissioner Regulations Part 154 (CR-Part 154) Units of Studies, and Blueprint for English Language Learner/Multilingual Learner (ELL/MLL) Success.
  • Experience teaching in the grade band associated with the posting.
