Job Summary:

The position of Senior Design Coordinator entails overseeing the comprehensive design delivery of greenfield and brownfield HV substations and eBOP systems for renewable projects, encompassing wind, solar, and BESS.

This involves leading multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with NSP, AEMO, and client standards throughout various project phases.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams comprising primary, secondary, civil, structural, and protection/control disciplines.
  • Streamline design inputs throughout procurement, construction, and commissioning phases for seamless project execution.
  • Closely collaborate with procurement teams on tendering, equipment selection, and vendor integration.
  • Lead design reviews, constructability assessments, and oversee design documentation to deliver timely, high-quality outputs.
  • Manage interface coordination across all project stages and disciplines.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics including cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Engage effectively with clients, OEMs, NSPs, and subcontractors to align project objectives.
Requirements:

• Holding a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; possessing CPEng status or working towards chartership is highly regarded.

• Possessing over 10 years' experience managing HV substation and renewable energy project designs.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex designs on time, within budget, and to specification.

• Strong technical knowledge of HV substation design, eBOP systems, protection, and control, as well as SCADA integration.

• Proven expertise in coordinating across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor junior engineers.

• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to succeed in a fast-paced, complex project environment.
