About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Disability Support Initiative Coordinator to join our team at Corrections Victoria. As a key member of our rehabilitation service, you will play a vital role in ensuring individuals with disabilities in custody receive the right care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with people in custody with suspected or confirmed disability to understand their needs.
  • Organise care team meetings to coordinate services caring for people in custody with disability.
  • Advising staff and external agencies on the best ways to support people with disability and complex needs.
  • Training corrections staff to better understand and respond to cognitive impairment and challenging behaviours.
