Behaviour Support Practitioner

Permanent part-time position in a supportive team.

Making a real difference in the lives of people living with a disability is our primary goal. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will improve the quality of life of our NDIS participants through positive behaviour strategies and collaboration.

You will work closely with participants, their families and service providers to create a supportive and safe environment.

This is an opportunity for experienced practitioners or fresh graduates to make a meaningful impact in the lives of people living with disabilities.

About The Role
  • Building close relationships with participants, their families and service providers
  • Providing professional information to people with disability and their support circle regarding evidence-based approaches to reduce challenging behaviour
  • Ensuring support delivered aligns with the participant's NDIS Plan
  • Undertaking behavioural assessments with NDIS participants who have complex and challenging behaviours
  • Developing and implementing intervention strategies in consultation with individuals and families
  • Recording support plans, notes and documents in line with the NDIS framework
What You Will Bring to the Role
  • Completed degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or similar
  • Experience or knowledge of contemporary practices and trends in service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities
  • Able to motivate, build rapport and attune with participants, their families and service providers
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to drive to offsite meetings and attend client visits
  • Knowledge of restrictive practices and experience developing positive behaviour support plans
  • Strong IT, admin and organisation skills
