Senior Database Specialist RoleWe are seeking a seasoned Senior Database Specialist to join our team of professionals in ensuring the optimal performance and availability of our SQL Server databases in a 24/7 environment. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaborative skills.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing multiple SQL Server databases, with a proven track record of successfully implementing and maintaining database security, backup and recovery policies, and performance optimization techniques.In addition to technical skills, successful candidates will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring SQL Server database performance and availability in a 24/7 environment.
  • Implementing and maintaining database security, backup and recovery policies, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement database strategies.
  • Providing expert-level support for database-related issues and requests.
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing multiple SQL Server databases.
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining database security, backup and recovery policies, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of TSQL programming and database design principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable skills include hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle database, and basic coding skills in PowerShell, Python, and Terraform.
