Key Position: Quality Manager

This role offers a unique opportunity to excel in quality management and lead a team of professionals.

As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality for customers. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will work collaboratively with other teams to develop and implement initiatives that drive excellence in quality management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a medium-sized diverse team of Quality Inspectors who check fresh produce, meat, dairy and seafood as it comes into the Eastern Creek distribution centre (DC).
  • Summarise and prioritise key supplier performance issues to category teams to drive supplier performance improvements.
  • Partner with Distribution Centre teams to ensure a safe and productive workplace for the team.
  • Review and highlight opportunities for improvement based on data from arrival and shelf-life assessments, as well as store feedback and audit results.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

About You and Your Skills

This role will leverage your proven leadership and management experience. Being part of a dedicated DC team, coupled with a continuous improvement mindset, will enable success in this role.

You will also ideally have:

  • A Science tertiary education qualification (preferred, but not mandatory).
  • Strong team management and leadership experience to drive engagement and build talent.
  • Proven relevant industry experience in technical and quality roles, as well as comfort working in a chilled environment.
  • Technical skills and know-how, coupled with knowledge of the Food Standards Code.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to working with multiple products across produce and fresh foods.
  • Cross-functional influencing - work with product technologists, product developers and category managers.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective resource management.
