Role Overview:

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will empower elderly clients to maintain their independence within the community by providing exceptional care services.

  • Engage in one-on-one interactions with a diverse clientele.
  • Address the individual needs of each client through various services, including personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping assistance, transportation to appointments, community involvement, and respite care.
  • Assist clients with tasks as specified in their Care Plans and Task Lists in a safe and respectful manner.
  • Facilitate transportation and community access for clients as needed.
  • Document services rendered and any pertinent information as required by program guidelines.
  • Report and document any changes in client status, health concerns, or service delivery issues to the Service Coordinators or Care Manager.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members by attending all relevant meetings and training sessions.

Candidate Profile:

  • Exhibit a flexible, compassionate, and patient demeanor, with the ability to work professionally and proficiently.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting clients in their home environment.
  • Possess knowledge of the aging process, home care services, and related programs.
  • Ability to work independently while promptly reporting concerns to Service Coordinators and Care Managers.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent/higher qualification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Valid Victorian driver's license, along with an insured and roadworthy vehicle.
