Interior Design Career Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Interior Designer to join our team. As a senior interior designer, you will have unlimited space to grow and bring inspirational architecture, interior design, landscapes, and urban design to our clients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To deliver interior architecture and design services to our clients for property and building projects.
  • To develop client relationships and secure interior design-related projects in the ACT and Southern NSW market.
  • To submit registrations of interest and proposals.
  • To assist the Business Group Leader to achieve financial targets with respect to new work, invoicing, and chargeable time.
  • To build effective relationships with other business groups to develop innovative solutions to our clients' requirements.
  • To create preliminary space plans and two- and three-dimensional design concept studies and sketches that integrate the client's program needs.
  • To confirm that preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety, and welfare requirements.
  • To select colours, materials, and finishes to convey the design concept and meet functional, maintenance, life-cycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • To select and specify furniture, fixtures, equipment, including layout drawings and detailed product description.
  • To prepare construction documents, consisting of plans, elevations, details, and specifications.
  • To observe and report on the implementation of projects while in progress and upon completion.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified in the relevant profession; interior architecture is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in architectural firms or interior design studios.
  • Strong leadership skills that foster team development and encourage a collaborative studio environment.
  • Previous experience having led and managed a small team is desirable.
  • An appreciation and/or experience in project scope definition and resource planning as well as the scheduling and management of workload for the interior design team.
  • Excellent verbal and graphic presentation skills.
  • A sound working knowledge and understanding of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Proficient in the use and application of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • An understanding of Microsoft Project, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop.
