Food Technologist Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Food Technologist to develop innovative food products and improve existing ones by providing flavors and ingredients that enhance customer products.

  • Responsibilities
  1. Product Innovation: Develop new and improved food products that meet client requirements and internal project objectives.
  2. Portfolio Optimization: Identify suitable product portfolios and technologies to capitalize on business opportunities.
  3. Flavor Management: Evaluate and review flavor profiles to ensure they meet local requirements.
  4. Administrative Tasks: Complete formulation and project management tasks, including preparing flavor evaluations and sensory testing.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Work with Regulatory/Flavorists to develop suitable submissions for projects, participate in client presentations and visits, and provide technical support.
  6. Professional Development: Stay updated on food ingredients and technologies, maintain laboratory practices (GMP, Health & Safety, Quality Management), and operate laboratory tools and equipment.
  7. Purchase Orders and Inventory Management: Raise purchase orders and complete GR in the system for laboratory purchases, and maintain flavor samples, flavor collection, raw materials, and packaging materials through internal operating systems.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in food product development, preferably in the beverage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food ingredients, flavor profiles, and food safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
