Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished research scientist to join our psychiatric genetics team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to develop expertise in data analysis, research methodology, and contribute to the development of new diagnostics, treatments, and prevention strategies for mental health conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in data analysis, coding, and collaboration with a focus on reproducibility and open-source publishing of code.

  • PhD in psychology, statistics, epidemiology, genetics or related academic areas with a strong data analysis component
  • Excellent coding skills in Unix environments with a focus on reproducibility and open-source publishing of code
  • Experience of analysing large genetic datasets, e.g. UK Biobank or clinical studies
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience of writing and publishing papers as first author
  • Collaborative research experience supporting a wider team to achieve their goals
