We are seeking a Junior Buyer to join our Merchandise Team under the guidance of a Buyer. You will be accountable for a category within General Merchandise, responsible for delivering profitable sales through deep knowledge of customer needs, achieved by building supplier relationships and executing the customer-centric category strategy.

The role is a hybrid role and we work in the office Monday to Wednesday. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a small category line with the support of the category Buyer.
  • Providing overall support to the Buyer and the broader category.
  • Delivery of KPIs of Sales & Profit to Budget for your assigned category.
  • Bringing new concepts and opportunities to the business in line with the TRS strategy.
  • Managing risk & opportunities and clearly communicating opportunities & business challenges.
  • Managing supplier relationships with Buyer and developing long-term, collaborative Supplier partnerships to improve customer experience and reduce costs.
  • Development of sourcing strategies to enable lowest cost.
  • Engage in supplier negotiations.
  • Buys Support and Sample administration.

The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years' experience in a retail Merchandise role, with proven experience in managing a small category. You will also have experience with product preferably within a General Merchandise/Home/Kitchenware background. Strong organisation skills and attention to detail are essential, along with strong analytical skills to create data-driven decisions. Ability to communicate well and build relationships with relevant stakeholders is also required.
