Chief Marine Engineer

This is a rare opportunity to join the SeaLink South Australia team as a Chief Engineer.
The Chief Engineer plays a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our vessels, working closely with the Marine Operations Manager and Marine Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of vessel engines and mechanical systems
- Work closely with the Marine Operations Manager and Marine Maintenance Manager to ensure vessel reliability and safety
- Meet and exceed key performance indicators, demonstrating a high level of work ethics
- Develop and implement effective work practices, standards, and performance metrics
- Assist with deck loading operations and provide technical guidance to engineers
- Marine Engineer Class 3 certification
- Current Drivers licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Confined Spaces qualification
- Ability to work autonomously and delegate tasks where required
- Flexibility and reliability
- Ability to handle difficult situations
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer who can demonstrate the following skills and qualities:
- Problem solving and engineering diagnostic skills
- Proven reporting and accountability focus
- Advanced computer literacy, verbal, and written communication skills
- Organisational, planning, and scheduling skills
- Ability to perform autonomously and delegate tasks where required
- Flexibility and reliability
- Ability to handle difficult situations
