The Chief Engineer is a critical member of the Sea Link South Australia's Marine Operations crew, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Company vessel engines and mechanical systems.
This role requires a high level of work ethics, interpersonal and organisational skills, and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
The Chief Engineer oversees the Engineers' work practices, standards and performance, and assists with deck loading operations.
A sound knowledge of the vessels is essential to all aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities- Safe and efficient operation of Company vessel engines and mechanical systems
- Oversee Engineers' work practices, standards and performance
- Assist with deck loading operations
- Meet and exceed key performance indicators
This role requires a Marine Engineer Class 3 certification, current Driver's licence, current First Aid and CPR, and Confined Spaces qualification.
Desirable qualifications include Master Heavy Rigid and Forklift licence, and Elevated Work Platform licence.
