Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Academic Leader to spearhead the delivery of Early Childhood Education degree programs at our Adelaide campus. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of early childhood education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all academic programs meet the University's standards and requirements, participating in internal and external course reviews, teaching/training students, and conducting student consultation and academic counselling.

This role offers a unique chance to work with a diverse group of students, staff, and stakeholders, fostering a positive and proactive working relationship to ensure academic delivery requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality academic programs in Early Childhood Education, adhering to university standards and requirements.
  • Participate in course reviews, accreditation exercises, and quality assurance processes.
  • Teach/train students in several courses as part of the Early Childhood Education program.
  • Conduct student consultations, academic counselling, and provide timely feedback on assessments.
  • Identify and support students at risk, ensuring compliance and best practice.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders, ensuring resource allocation and academic delivery requirements are met.
Requirements
  • Ideal candidate: completion or near completion of a Doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Experience in teaching higher education programs to international and domestic students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Knowledge of Australian curriculum content and pedagogy in early childhood education and the early years of primary school.
  • Experience in enhancing student academic outcomes while ensuring quality and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic governance, including teaching and learning-related quality assurance requirements.
  • Knowledge of student candidature management and academic support services/functions.
  • Knowledge of the National Code of Practice (2018).
  • Superior organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
