Job Overview

Houlihan Lokey is a global investment bank with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital solutions, financial restructuring, and financial valuation advisory.

Our Financial Restructuring Group is expanding and we are looking for an experienced analyst to be based in our Sydney office.

Financial Analysts work specifically with the group, assisting with various transactions including creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed mergers & acquisitions.

  • Advise companies and stakeholders on informal and formal restructuring transactions
  • Provide distressed M&A advisory
  • Offer advisory services related to debt and equity raising in complex, stressed and distressed situations
  • Participate in complex negotiations on behalf of clients

Deal teams typically consist of at least one managing director, director or senior vice president, associate and financial analyst.

Requirements/Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

  • A strong academic record
  • A genuine interest in financial restructuring and/or working on complex large financial transactions
  • Up to 3 years experience within financial restructuring, leveraged finance or insolvency
  • An understanding of valuation theory, methodologies and applications
  • Comprehension of key debt components and structures
  • Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills commensurate with experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
