We're seeking an expert in innovation and problem-solving to join our team as a Solutions Design Engineer.

About the Role

In this exciting position, you'll be responsible for transforming client needs into practical and effective solutions using cutting-edge technologies such as robotics, AI, and safety systems.

  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Development Managers, Solution Architects, and fellow Engineers to deliver tailored solutions that meet our clients' strategic goals and drive significant returns on investment.
Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our Solutions team, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Visiting customer sites to gather technical specifications and commercial drivers for return on investment.
  • Collaborating with our Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Controls, and Production teams to develop optimal solutions.
  • Conceptualising and designing automation solutions that transform client problems into innovative concepts.
  • Developing compelling presentations and pitching solution ideas to prospective customers.
  • Crafting comprehensive proposal documentation detailing the solution's functionality, performance, and commercial aspects.
  • Staying up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies and consulting with specialists to integrate them effectively into our solutions.
Requirements
  • Strong customer-facing skills with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Effective design thinking skills with an ability to brainstorm and innovate.
  • A background in mechanical design or industrial design is essential.
  • The ability to perform cycle time modelling and other performance estimations is required.
  • Experience in generating and writing clear, persuasive technical proposals is necessary.
  • A foundation in engineering principles, such as mechatronics, mechanical, or electrical engineering, is necessary.
  • An eagerness to develop commercial acumen and understand financial drivers is highly desirable.
