SCT Logistics is a leading provider of transportation and logistics services in South Australia. We are seeking an experienced and strategically minded Transport Manager to lead our fleet department based in Penfield.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day function of the fleet division, including a team of transport coordinators and truck drivers. They will be responsible for driving a safety culture, developing and implementing long-term transport strategies, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong safety leadership and partner with WHS to drive a safety culture across the department.
  • Effectively lead the team across all stages of the employee lifecycle and people management processes.
  • Develop and drive the long-term transport strategy and immediate strategic initiatives.
  • Establish efficient procedures and workflows for transport operations.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, Health & Safety policies, Chain of Responsibility, NHVR regulations, and company procedures.
  • Optimise financial performance by managing budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Uphold a high quality of quality and service excellence.
  • Foster effective communication and build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a managerial role delivering transportation logistics and heavy haulage environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of applicable legislation, WHS responsibilities, and safety protocols.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a demonstrable track record of effectively managing teams and achieving tangible results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven capacity to engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Current and valid car driver's license, with HC/MC desirable.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite and highly skilled in relevant industry IT systems.
