Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit Manager to lead our internal audit function.

About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term position based in either Sydney or Wellington, responsible for managing the execution of allocated audits and ensuring effective resource allocation to meet time, budget, and quality objectives.

The successful candidate will oversee and coach Senior Auditors to assist in completing audits, ensure effective and timely communication to stakeholders regarding findings, risks recommendations, and progress of assignments, and support management in the process of analyzing key risks and controls.

Additionally, you will review adequacy of action taken by management to correct reported control deficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the execution of allocated audits, ensuring effective resource allocation to meet time, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Oversee and coach Senior Auditors to assist in completing audits.
  • Ensure effective and timely communication to stakeholders regarding findings, risks recommendations, and progress of assignments.
  • Support management in the process of analyzing key risks and controls.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an Internal Audit role within Banking & Finance.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA) or CPA Australia (CPA).
  • In-depth understanding of audit methodologies and requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of Australia and New Zealand regulatory requirements.
