About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical System Designer to join our team at Energy Queensland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing overhead and underground distribution designs, estimates, and other project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice regarding distribution design for the provision of electricity supply and electricity network augmentation.
  • Design and develop comprehensive estimating, design, and works coordination.
  • Prepare designs for our electricity distribution system by taking a defined scope of works and turning it into detailed and concise drawings for our field crews to interpret.
Requirements
  • The appropriate electrical work licence issued in accordance with the Electrical Safety Regulation Linesperson, Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Electrical Jointer.
  • Experience in distribution network design, public lighting design and communication network low complexity designs and estimates is beneficial but not essential – training will be provided to the successful candidate.
  • Proven experience in providing technical advice and guidance to stakeholders and respond to customer enquiries associated with assigned designed projects.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience preparing accurate and detailed technical reports and scope of works.
