Job Title: Site Sanitation Specialist

Maintaining a safe and clean environment is paramount in our operation. As a skilled sanitation professional, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all site facilities are clean and tidy.

This hands-on role combines sanitation duties with leadership responsibilities, where you will support the coordination and performance of the broader cleaning team across site facilities.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience in a professional sanitation or cleaning role;
  • Proven experience in a leading hand or supervisory capacity, with the ability to guide and support team members;
  • A sound understanding of safe work practices;
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling practices;
  • A willingness to contribute towards the success of your team while supporting a positive team culture;
  • Flexibility to assist in other areas as required.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in designated work areas, in line with established area work procedures;
  • Carrying out manual tasks utilizing good manual handling techniques;
  • Contributing to a safe environment when undertaking duties, ensuring equipment is not obscuring exits or passageways;
  • Using appropriate chemicals correctly, in accordance with manufacturers' specifications, safety data sheets, and monitoring their effectiveness;
  • Maintaining adequate supplies of sanitation materials;
  • Notifying the coordinator of any occurring deficiencies or repairs to buildings and equipment.
Leading Hand Responsibilities

In addition to the above duties, the leading hand will also:

  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the sanitation team;
  • Allocate tasks and monitor team performance to ensure sanitation standards and schedules are met;
  • Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and support for new or less experienced cleaners;
  • Ensure all team members comply with safety procedures and site rules;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the team in relation to daily operations, escalating issues to the site services coordinator where required;
  • Assist with rostering and planning team coverage during leave periods or high-demand times.

A current Manual Drivers Licence is mandatory.
