The project involves upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, traffic management technology, and a dedicated busway.
Key Responsibilities
As a Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for providing onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure the planning, implementation, and maintenance of traffic management is carried out accordingly within specified guidelines. You will exercise professional judgement and negotiation in resolving traffic management issues, manage budgets, and report on traffic engineering performance. You will also undertake risk assessments for developing Traffic Management Plans and ensure the safety of the engineers, workforce, and general public.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant engineering degree and have previous experience in a similar traffic/civil role. You will have proven experience leading and working on large-scale projects with high traffic volumes and technical, logistical, and traffic management delivery challenges. You will demonstrate a safety-conscious approach to your daily work, excellent problem-solving and organisational skills, and the ability to lead from the front and encourage collaboration between departments.
