E-7A Wedgetail Flight Training Specialist

As a Qualified Simulator Instructor, your primary objective is to provide comprehensive training to RAAF customer pilots using the E-7A Wedgetail full-flight simulator. This involves conducting thorough briefings prior to each training session to set clear expectations, as well as debriefing and critiquing at the end of each session to ensure that customers are aware of their performance.
Additionally, you will be responsible for providing a brief outline of upcoming training events, facilitating mass briefings to students according to relevant course syllabi, and supporting the development and input of comprehensive training scenarios based on RAAF customer requirements.
Another key aspect of this role is ensuring the efficient delivery of training by arranging all necessary administrative duties, including briefing room and simulator preparation, in coordination with other elements of the WT ISS Training Services Delivery Team.
- Conduct training of RAAF customer pilots during the simulator phase of training throughout all levels of the E-7A Wedgetail Pilot Categorisation and Currency Scheme.
- Conduct thorough briefings prior to each training session to provide the training expectations, as well as debriefings and critiques at the end of each training session, to ensure that the customer is aware of their performance.
- Provide a brief outline of the training events for future sessions.
- Facilitate theoretical examinations as per the relevant course syllabus.
- Evaluate and document the pilots' performance and progress in the training sessions in the relevant records and reports to allow third-party assessment.
- Report any customer training problems or conflicts to the Senior Instructor - Flight Crew Training.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess operational military experience as a CATEGORY C Captain (or foreign Military equivalent) and current or former experience on E-7A Wedgetail or P-8A Poseidon or military variants. They should also demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment, maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, and interact successfully with co-workers to meet organisational goals.
Furthermore, they must have a demonstrated working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures and be able to obtain and maintain a baseline defence security clearance.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications- Current or former Military Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI)
- Current or former Category C QFI (or higher) on either an E-7A Wedgetail, P-8A Poseidon or B737 BBJ
- Experience in synthetic devices
- Experience in safety management roles
- Experience working in contractor environments directly with customers
