Critical to the success of our organization is a highly skilled Database Reliability Engineer who can maintain the health and performance of our data infrastructure.
This position involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize databases that meet the evolving needs of our business.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintaining optimal configuration for distributed systems including Cassandra, Elasticsearch/Opensearch, Kafka, Redis, Vaultkey, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Developing infrastructure services to support a full DevOps model in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Working closely with Engineering and Customer Support to troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues.
- Ensuring petabytes of critical business data are safe, secure, and available at all times.
- Strong understanding of configuration management (Chef).
- Proficiency in scripting languages Python and bash.
- Experience working with large-scale datastores using technologies like Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, ZooKeeper, and MySQL.
- Ability to operate within cloud environments, preferably Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both local and remote teams.
- Track record of making sound decisions, particularly under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to strike a balance between confidence and prudence when seeking guidance from the team.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
