The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics at the University of Wollongong seeks a highly skilled Associate Research Fellow in Computational Statistics to contribute to the expansion of Statistics research. This position complements the appointment of the TIBRA Foundation Chair in Mathematical Sciences and focuses on developing statistical methodology for high-dimensional Bayesian statistics.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective Bayesian computational strategies for high-dimensional statistical models.
- Collaborate with Professor Sumeetpal Singh to devise and implement Markov Chain Monte Carlo and Sequential Monte Carlo methods.
- Conduct research in statistical methodology and statistical computing within the initiative "Advanced Computationally Intensive Methods for Bayesian Analysis of High-dimensional Models."
- Contribute to the supervision of an associated doctoral research studentship.
- PhD in Statistics or a related field.
- Strong background in Bayesian computations and high-dimensional statistics.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
