Expert Medical Care Specialist

As a highly skilled medical care specialist, you will provide essential medical services to members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Providing expert primary medical care to ADF personnel in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Delivering patient-centred, holistic care alongside a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assessing fitness for duty and supporting health before and after deployments.
  • Offering critical medical advice to Joint Health Command leadership.

This is a permanent employee status, with accrued sick and annual leave, and possible availability to be called in to backfill sick leave or planned leave on those days.

A key requirement of this role is flexibility and commitment to being available, as you would be paid for each day.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Australian Citizenship.
  • General registration with AHPRA.
  • Fellowship with RACGP, ACRRM, or Vocational Registration.
  • At least 2 years of GP experience in the last 5 years.
  • Recent CPD participation aligned with AHPRA requirements.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
