About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Specialist at Cimic Group, you will be part of our Process Engineering team in Brisbane. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in designing and developing mechanical systems for the global resources sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop process plant layouts, including piping and pumping, 3D modeling, and detailed engineering drawings from conceptual sketches to final design.
  • Provide technical support and contribute to design solutions in consultation with Lead Drafter or Lead Engineer.
  • Evaluate and implement safe design practices to ensure personal safety and compliance with company standards.
  • Manage drafting and review processes to guarantee accuracy and compliance with project execution plans.
  • Maintain effective project timelines and costs, monitoring the effectiveness of designs, scheduling, resource allocation, and client expectations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Able to work with cross-functional teams within the organization.
  • Engineering Advanced diploma/Associate degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in design, consultancy, or operational environments.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling using AutoCAD, Advance Steel / Prosteel, Inventor, Navisworks, or similar software packages.
  • Prior experience in mining and heavy industry is highly advantageous.
