About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Specialist to join our team at Tbwa Chiat/Day Inc in Sydney. As a Trade Specialist, you will play a vital role in driving sales and improving customer engagement through targeted marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate analysis and reporting for our trade and promotional activities.
  • Include weekly sales performance reporting and analysis of any unexpected variances and reporting on findings.
  • Support the drafting of weekly Exec Trade Review Memo.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and deep-dives, especially across channels and different promo tactics/mechanisms.
  • Support weekly promotional planning and execution as well as tactical/reactive trade initiatives.
  • Roll up and monitor SKU and stock required for key promotions, updating the Head of Commercial Trade of any risks or concerns.
  • Create campaigns for our business models (Retail and Marketplace) and upload SKUs to feature in these campaigns.
  • Create and review marketing briefs for creative and engagement marketing teams.
  • Manage the execution of the offers/initiatives in order to ensure we deliver against our Trade goals.
  • Work with channel owners to secure/confirm appropriate support across promos/initiatives.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, providing suggestions, solutions or actions.
  • Monitor and track our competitors' promotional activity.
Requirements
  • Able to consider commercial, customer, and internal requirements and work to develop solutions that achieve a balance across all of these.
  • Has an analytical mindset: comfortable working with large quantities of data.
  • Seeks out data to help answer questions.
  • Natural problem-solving capabilities and an eagerness to develop these.
  • Excellent user of MS Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Translates data into insights to support strategic decision making.
  • Proactively takes ownership and responsibility of work and takes pride in doing a thorough job and making an impact.
  • Actively looks to improve processes and develop efficiencies where possible.
  • Communicates clearly and ensures communication style is reflective of the audience.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and self-managing workload, quickly escalating to manager for support where necessary.
  • Has an understanding of the strategy, KPIs, and OKRs for the Category Management department and demonstrates this in their actions and focus.
  • Makes decisions with the department goals in mind.
  • Confidently able to develop a comprehensive knowledge of systems and processes.
  • Experience within the retail industry is ideal.
