Job Description

The Youth Psychosocial Support Package (YPSP) model is a pilot initiative that aims to support young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues, with or without alcohol and other drug use, through community-based support services.

We are seeking a passionate and resilient individual to work in a strength-based, person-centred, and trauma-informed way with young people. The successful candidate will develop individualised support plans that cater to the mental health needs of young people and assist them in their recovery journey.

The role involves working predominantly on outreach within the Perth metro area and some in Rockingham, Monday to Friday, with varied hours depending on the client load and staff availability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychosocial supports to young people in a community-based setting
  • Develop and implement individualised support plans tailored to the mental health needs of young people
  • Maintain intentional boundaries and adhere to the Youth Worker WA Code of Ethics
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Diploma level qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related field
  • Experience in delivering youth work or another support role in a community services setting, particularly on outreach
  • Skills in working with young people who have mental health and/or alcohol and other drug issues
