About the Program

AIR6500 is a strategic program aimed at developing a joint air battle management system that integrates Next Generation sensor and command and control systems.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for IVVC activities to ensure successful system acceptance and certification.
  • Leverage expertise to direct Integration, V&V, and Certification leads.
  • Oversee the delivery of Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) and customer alignment with Agile-based verification approaches.
  • Manage the collection of objective quality evidence (OQE) throughout the lifecycle to support V&V and certification.
  • Manage Control Accounts (CAM) including cost, schedule, and risk responsibilities.
  • Drive the acquisition of supporting IVVC infrastructure (labs, tools, customer-furnished items).
  • Report status, risks, and resolutions to senior stakeholders and program leadership.
  • Collaborate with multi-site, international teams in a high-performance environment.
About You

You bring strong leadership skills, deep technical knowledge, and a delivery mindset to manage one of the most strategically important aspects of the program.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Defence Test & Evaluation frameworks and practices.
  • Deep understanding of Australian regulatory and certification processes.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale defence delivery teams and contractual obligations.
  • Strong experience with Control Account Management and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, tools, and standards in a defence context.
