Technical Support Engineer – Energy Storage

The Harry James Group is partnering with a leading sustainable energy company to find a skilled Technical Support Engineer for their Energy Storage and Optimization Lifecycle Management team. This role requires a passionate individual who is knowledgeable about energy storage and clean energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain battery sites across the globe, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Provide remote level-2 support to customers and expertise centers, utilizing proprietary software to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Record and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, contributing to the development of reports and assessments.
  • Coordinate system updates with software teams and customers, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
  • Respond to support requests in a timely manner, documenting all customer interactions and repairs performed.
  • Notify customers of repair status, warranty claims, software updates, and other relevant information.
  • Provide energy storage training to customers and internal colleagues, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Field Service Engineers on warranty claims and notify the warranty claims division of the company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with electrical hardware or electronics.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Some international travel required (approximately 5-15%).
  • Experience maintaining customer relationships on multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with solar or energy storage systems, lithium-ion battery chemistries, and grid-scale renewable energy systems.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Control (PLC programming).
  • Familiarity with microgrid controls.
  • Familiarity with industrial cooling systems.
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system.
